What is Vitamin A ?

Known also as retinol,beta-carotene, and carotenoids it is one of the fat-soluble vitamins and it plays an important role in maintaining healthy teeth, bones, tendons, ligaments and skin. Vitamin A supports good vision and the immune system helping the body to fight infections.
Where Vitamin A is found in natural form?  Human body does not produce Vitamin A so we have to get it from either natural products or from supplements. In nature is found only in foods of animal origin. Most popular are milk, eggs and calf liver.
Beta-carotene is a compound from the class of carotenoids. When eaten, Beta-carotenes are converted into Vitamin A, by the liver.  Among the plants rich in beta-carotene are carrots, tomatoes, spinach, kale, sweet potatoes. and collard  greens. Fruits like mangoes and apricots.
